The Jefferson Falcons Jr High soccer team got the season off to a solid victory. The first half started slow but got rolling when Cole Smock tore through the Herald defense and shot the ball past a diving goalie. St. John then fought back to tie the score at 1-1 when the Falcon defense deflected the ball into their own goal. The Falcon attack caught fire after the second half started. Cole Smock again scored on a very nice run and cross from Ava Contenza. Soon after Smock sliced thru the Herald defense and was tackled hard but the ball went directly to Evan Smock who tallied another goal. St John added a goal setting the score at 3-2. The Falcons knew they needed more and they got it from the strong right foot of Caymin Skytta to bring the score to 4-2. While the Falcons rested thier starters St. John added another goal to bring the score to 4-3. The Falcon defense weathered the storm and held off a series of corner kicks from the Herald attack to close the game out. The entire squad saw time on the field and played well.

The Falcons play at home against Braden Jr High on Thursday @ 4:30. Come out and experience Falcon Soccer.
